Prayer Circle

Threads and Spaces

More than 350 years ago in the small village of LePuy, France the first Sisters of St. Joseph made lace to provide for their care as they met the needs of the ‘dear neighbor’ who so desperately needed a loving presence.  Lace, composed of threads and spaces, has come to represent so much to the Sisters since that time.  Recognizing the movement of the Spirit in the weaving of the threads as well as the spaces between . . . creating the patterns of their lives.

Prayer and relationships are central in the weaving of lace today.  The Sisters of St. Joseph cherish the opportunities they have to enter into prayer with and for the many friends who are a part of their lives.  They are enriched by these treasured relationships.

As a way to deepen this interconnectedness, the Sisters invite you to be a part of reaching out in their name to draw others into the circle of prayer.   We have created note cards for you to send to friends and family to let them know you have requested prayer on their behalf.  You may send the enclosed form to us so that we are aware of your prayer requests.  In this very simple gesture, the weaving continues . . . threads and spaces, spaces and threads.   To extend this circle, contact us at bbrewster@csjoseph.org to receive the Prayer Circle note cards.
